Sticky Keys

In some situations, holding down T1/Num or T4/Shift while typing is not desirable. The Sticky Key mode allows Num to act as Num Lock and T4/Shift to act as Caps Lock.

When enabled, simply tap the Sticky Key and it will remain on until tapped again. Holding the key, will also toggle it until it is tapped or held again. Both T1/Num and T4/Shift can be enabled and toggled to the ON/OFF positions at the same time.

For chord notation, when a Sticky Key is toggled into the ON state, the chords will always have that modifier associated with it.

For example, if Num Lock is toggled on, using the default config:

T4 Notation

  • pressing F1R (“a”) will send T1F1R (“1”).

Classic Notation

  • pressing 0 R000 (“a”) will send N R000 (“1”).

Notes about Sticky Keys

  • Both Sticky Num and Sticky Shft can be toggled ON at the same time. This makes accessing special reserved chords very easy. In some cases, one of these chords may be pressed causing undesirable results.
  • There is no indicator on the Twiddler to show the state of the Sticky Keys. On screen output is the only way to tell which mode a Sticky Key is currently toggled.
  • Most of the time, people who use the Twiddler in the left hand will enable Sticky Num, while right handed Twiddlers will use Sticky Shft.
  • Both functions can be accomplished by using the built in chords as well
Function T4 Notation Classic Notation
CAPS Lock F1R 2R 3R 4R 0 RRRR
NUM Lock F1M 2M 3M 4M 0 MMMM
