Twiddler Legacy Instructions
The Twiddler is a powerful keyboard. It can type over 6,000 different chords and has many different modes of operation. All of the chords and settings are maintained in the Twiddler's Config file. Twiddler Tuner is used to create and modify Config files.
The Twiddler allows you to chose from 4 different configs:
0.cfg is the factory Default Config. This config can be overwritten on the flash drive but WILL NOT be written to non-volatile storage when the USB cable is unplugged. This is a “failsafe” so that there is always a valid config available for typing. When typing T0F4M (Cycle Config), 3 Green LEDs indicate that you are using the Default Config.
1.cfg, 2.cfg, 3.cfg are user configs. Once downloaded from Twiddler Tuner onto your host computer, copy the file to the Twiddler's Storage via the USB connection. UNPLUG the USB cable and the Twiddler will write the config file to non-volatile storage and make it available for the Twiddler to use. Check out this video for more information on these configs.
Configs must be named 1.cfg, 2.cfg or 3.cfg in order for them to be written to the Twiddler's non-volatile (working) storage. If it is names 1(1).cfg as some Hosts may name them, the file can be copied to the Twiddler but it will not be written to working storage.
Note: Once written to the Twiddler, file creation dates will be reset to 1/1/2016 no matter when they were created or uploaded.
